Electric Guitar Players, Play your Acoustic

If you mainly play electric guitar, you should consider spending more time on your acoustic. I go through stretches where I don’t play my old Martin very much, and then when I do, I feel like I’ve lost some physical strength. I’m clunky and don’t feel like I can play very cleanly. But it doesn’t take much. A day or so with my acoustic and I start feeling it again and it makes everything I do on my electric guitars feel easier – like butter. I also get fresh ideas that can either stay with my acoustic or be transferred to my electric.

But I always feel the benefits on my electric guitars when I’m putting a healthy amount of time in on my Martin. So, if you don’t own an acoustic, consider buying one. You don’t have to break the bank. There are many affordable options out there; acoustic guitars that are playable and have a decent sound.
